We are expanding in a few different ways.
First of all, we have finally started to the bathroom remodel. We don’t have our new water heater or propane tank yet, but we figured we might as well get some things done that doesn’t require plumbing.
Evan got to work on the bathroom door/hallway wall last week. Remember, in this post where I explained where the new door was going to be? Read up, in case you missed it. Evan took down the entire wall that was in between the bathroom and hallway. We aren’t salvaging any old drywall because all the pieces are moldy due to the air conditioner in the attic leaking. We have fixed the leaky A/C, but as you know, you can’t reverse mold. Plus, that drywall has served it’s time. So he took down the wall, replaced the drywall and added drywall to where the closet door used to be. He also installed a NORMAL SIZE DOOR! It’s like a whole new world not having to squeeze into the bathroom.
He started to demo the wall that our new vanity and sinks will go on, and will eventually put new drywall up. He wants to get the electric part of the process done before that happens. We don’t have an outlet in the bathroom at all right now, thanks to the 1960s. So that will be added and the light switch needs to be moved to another wall since it is now behind the door (the door swings the opposite direction now). We will need lighting on the new wall also, but there is already a fixture there so that shouldn’t be too much trouble. So that completes our update on the house.
Another expansion is…ETSY! I have opened an Etsy shop to sell some of my watercolor designs and calligraphy. I am also working on holiday items like ornaments and holiday related paintings and calligraphy designs (see below).
I have been so consumed in drawing and painting lately that I figured why not step out and see what I can sell, if anything. I am also working towards selling in a local farmer’s market so that will be a new adventure in itself. As some of you may know, I can’t sit still for long and this is something that I have always wanted to do, but never really made definite moves toward it. I appreciate any feedback and ideas that you may have for me, so please don’t be shy. I’ll keep y’all updated on the farmer’s market and would love to see some locals from the area out there.
